However, it is recommended for you to be familiar with basic programming skills, such as variables, loops and classes. It is worthy to mention that this course can be taken stand alone or within a provided package to teach Ruby on Rails web development.

What puts this course on top of the list is the high rating it received from 3,654 learners until the moment we wrote this review which is 4.9/5.0! Rating: 4.7/5.0

About the Course:

Clearly, from the title of the program we can understand that it is a kind of learning experience that is so comprehensive, as the word ‘Camp’ is included. Personally, this is my favorite course on web development. It is so comprehensive that it will literally take you from the very start with zero experience to making real web applications, pages, games and much more! Added to that, you will be able to learn full-stack web with full authentication and will receive a certification of completion.

According to a survey run on this specific program graduates, 94% of them got full-time developer jobs, noting that they were only beginners when they started taking the course. This is believed to be a result of the interactive and on-going engaging technique while teaching unlike other courses which mainly allow the learner to watch while things are being done in front of him/her.

Another two advantages to this course, the first is that once you enroll you can have lifetime access to the material whenever you want, even if you had to makes stops during learning for personal reasons. Noting that it is a best-seller on Udemy. The second is that you will get a course which is worth of thousands of dollars with a very cheap price.

Some minor drawbacks revolve around that the instructor basically uses a Mac device, so windows users need to focus more to apply the instructions to their devices. Moreover, a good level of English is required to follow up with the course. You can review the program and check it HERE.

About the Course:

This course is a little bit different from the previously mentioned ones, although the learning material is almost the same. The main different thing is that it is considered as a hands-on learning experience. Where the learner gets to build more than 23 projects from scratch. You get to code, design and implement self-directed projects.

The main advantage to this course is that you need no prior-experience in coding. You will be able to develop skills in Photoshop, HTML, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, PHP and MySQL. It is important to mention that the course creator have been working as a developer and a designer for more than 5 years and the course is also a best-seller on Udemy.

Having done reviewing this course, it was found that many learners were satisfied with the content on HTML and CSS3. However, they believed that Bootstap and JQuery were not covered in depth enough for the learner who is considered to be a beginner in coding and web development. Hi! These courses seem really great!
I have been wanting to take a course in programming already for a while, and the one that costs 49 dollars in Coursera seems like a good option. I would consider doing it. It might be a life-changer, I guess. Do you really think someone could be fully employed after taking one of these courses?
Do you think that they are as powerful in the job market as a “bootcamp”, for example?
Please let me know as I would like to know more.

    Thank you very much,

    • Hi Mia!

Your reviews of Online Web Development Courses From Scratch The Top 3 is very informative.
I agree with MrAbramburica that the John Hopkins course seems to be worth checking out for the price. And thousands of reviewers ranking it 4.9 out of 5 stars is really encouraging.
What I noticed, however, is that the JH course teaches HTML, CSS, and JavaScript whereas Brad Hussey’s course covers a lot more. What does Colt Steele’s course include?
Thanks for the great article, I’ll be looking closer into all of these as I need to upgrade what little and outdated programming skill I have.

    • Hi Ed!
